Training cost ranges based on experience up to $125. Serve as a whitewater rafting guide on both paddle and oar rafts. If hired, training will continue on the Arkansas River (unpaid) until you are ready to guide commercially (usually two to three weeks). We hire only professionals, and we expect the highest level of professionalism from our staff.Colorado Adventure Center also offers a First Aid & CPR class during our training program. Guides will run full-day, half-day, and third-day river trips on Clear Creek. You must have accurate and up-to-date guide logs (including training and certification) to be eligible for employment. These positions are available at our Idaho Springs basecamp.Select staff may work March through October. Responsibilities include handling waivers, money, data entry, inventory control, checking in guests and cleaning the office space.

It’s important to us and it should be to you that your training exceeds the standards of the the industry. A minimum of 50 hours of on-river training (30 of which must be with a certified training guide) are required by law. Please realize there is much more training in May and June than commercially paid trips so you must be able to support yourself financially through those times. White water rafting jobs are paid by the trip and you will be paid $36 per half-day trip and $68 per full-day trip in your first season. We define experienced staff as those with at least 200 hours of at-height experience, and knowledge of basic rescue and lowering techniques. Job Summary. Even though we hire most or all of our new guides from the training course, we’d like to emphasize that you are not guaranteed a job after the program is over. CPR & First Aid training is available at a minimal cost.

Both courses are open 7 days a week in the summer so staff will be required to work weekdays and weekends with varying days off. Candidates should understand risk management, be organized, have an eye for detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced and busy environment.
