The PalmPilot was a line of PDAs (palmtop computers) first produced by Palm in 1992 with the lead of Jeff Hawkins.Their first PDA was called the Zoomer before they were purchased by U.S. Robotics in 1995.After the purchase, U.S. Robotics released several hundred thousand PalmPilots.
But not soon enough for our dean. It was sometime in 1999 or maybe 2000. Palm totally missed the boat styling wise a few years ago and has yet to recover.

I’m not saying they single-handedly killed Lotus Notes. The big question is: how much would a redesign add to the cost of a mid-range unit? Handspring and Palm ended up merging in 2003. The success of other lines of gizmos (eg, RAZR, iPod, etc) shows that there is a reasonable market for elegant design. Will it work?
