Help would be greatly appreciated!! Something new and hot doesn’t immediately make the previous generation truly “obsolete.” The 9th-gen Intel Core H CPU has proven itself in many gaming laptops, including the recently reviewed We’re leaning slightly in the ‘don’t-wait’ direction for users buying laptops for content creation tasks, such as editing video.

So unless you know someone that will have a 3000 chip for you to use on a B550 to update the bios then I would wait if you truly want a 4000 chip and see if the sellers start pushing B550 updated out of the box for it.Seeing the worldwide shortage of all X570 boards I'm anticipating a slight delay in the release of Zen 3. Ryzen 4000 should close the performance gap with the 10900K, so yes it’s worth waiting. Take for example the 3600 which even beats 8700 from intel at not even comparable price, the 3500 is a very capable budget cpu too. Ryzen 4000 is still surrounded by rumors so we don’t have much to go off of as to what we can expect from it. The APU parts generally lag behind the CPU only parts by 6 months to a year, so we probably won't be seeing Zen 3 based APUs for another year or so yet, at least on the desktop.

They have 4GHz and 4.6GHz base and boost clock speeds respectively. Soldato . This first Ryzen 4000 desktop APU goes by the codename Renoir, and is essentially a scaled up version of AMD’s Ryzen 4000 mobile processor. And the ones to wait for (if you don't mind waiting half a year) is Zen3 based 4000 series pure CPUs.I think for my purposes the 3600 will be fine for games and if i am not mistaken the 3600 is quite futureproof should i upgrade to a newer GPU (say RX 5700 XT or an RTX Card) right?Look for used 2700X/3600 or even buy cheaper 3300X new (for esport titles this is even better now compared to 3600) when new cpus arrive just buy and sell old one. You’ll give up a little performance, but these current models are already plenty capable and available. And ofcourse more but I'm lazy to type :)so a 4600 is confirmed to release this year? This morning, AMD announced the next big thing for its Ryzen desktop CPU line—the Ryzen 4000 series, slated to arrive in Q3 2020. There will always be something new to wait for, and Ryzen 4000 on desktop is not exactly right around the corner. This will be the first time since the launch of the Ryzen series processors that the architecture of the chips will not change. It would be a downgrade in every real world scenario, except number of cores on paper. AMD’S Ryzen 4000 series desktop processors will be based on Zen 3 7nm+ architecture. Executive Editor,
