Not exactly think-a-dirty-thought-and-it-goes-off lighter. A lot of bang for the buck!My only other gripe with the 930 SPX: the lack of accommodation for a sling swivel loop on either the fore end or the magazine tube. An inertial action shotgun should reload just fine even if it were just lying on the ground and unsupported. Even to doubting your old 590… I’ve had very good luck with Mossbergs, and specific to the 930 design, my experiences have been much better than yours.
Once you rack the charging handle, you can pull the trigger and fire repeatedly without doing anything else. The knurled handle isn’t ridiculous but it is designed with gripping and ripping in mind.I would not be worth my salt were I to simply be wooed by tactical features.
The 930 handles 12-gauge, 2-3/4" and 3" ammunition with ease, from low brass target loads to non-toxic magnum rounds to the latest in sabot slug ammo. Stop complaining about reliability.
This, when combined with the recoil pad on the stock of the Mossberg 930, makes it pretty easy for even inexperienced shooters to get into the groove of shooting it. I’d grab my 7+1 930 SPX with another 4 on the stock before my 870 4+1 any day. It feeds and extracts everything I FIRE through it, but does seem to inconsistently extract shells that are manually cycled for some reason.Wealth of information found here that could mean the difference between life and death for prospective owners. I fed it anything from 3″ buck and slugs to 2 1/2 inch self defense loads(note if you shoulder your gun as you should the defense loads work just fine). I don’t even touch my 500 anymore.Regarding reliability, my 930 eats target loads just fine. )When the training wheels come off there really is only one choice.Only 125 rounds then the SHTF.
I just did not want to drop $1,600 on a shotgun. Mossberg 930 JM Pro Series Tactical Class. FLAWLESS ANS WILL NEVER GIVE IT UP. The thought process in my esteemed career for so long has been relegated to trashing semi-auto guns as unreliable. Some believe semi-auto shotguns are unreliable. They make the 590 pump in 20 gauge and the Shockwaves are 590's in 20, and 410, so a SPX in 20 shouldn't be too far of a stretchAbout halfway through I thought I might want to clean the gun and give it a fair shake. But I wanted to see what to expect, and your suggestions should help me get it to the range with the best chance of success without problems. A 20 gauge as a defensive weapon is still terrible to behold and at minimal recoil. It feeds Birdshot, target, slug and buckshot reliably.
Read the Chris Hitchens book about her.I am about to turn 18 and I am looking forward to buying a mossberg 930 spx and I’m wondering what is the difference between the blackwater, the jm pro, And the regular 930 spx?
